We are proposing to change some of the corrosion control standards for hazardous liquid and carbon dioxide pipelines. The proposed changes are based on our review of the adequacy of the present standards compared to similar standards for gas pipelines and acceptable safety practices. The proposed changes are intended to improve the clarity and effectiveness of the present standards and reduce the potential for pipeline accidents due to corrosion.
