Dear Mr. Wilson:
From October 4 to 6, 2011, a representative of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety
Administration (PHMSA) pursuant to Chapter 601 of 49 United States Code inspected the Portland
Pipeline Corporation’s (Portland) Public Awareness Program in South Portland, Maine. As a result
of the inspection, Portland was issued a Notice of Amendment (NOA) on February 10, 2012.
On March 6, 2012, Portland submitted its initial response to the NOA, along with proposed
amendments. On May, 22, 2012, Portland completed its submission of amended procedures. My
staff reviewed the amended procedures, and it appears that the inadequacies set forth in the NOA
have been corrected.
This letter is to inform you no further action is necessary and this case is now closed. Thank you
for your cooperation.
