Dear Mr. Foglio:
This is in response to your letter dated August 31, 1998,
regarding the requirement to indicate the packaging type on
shipping papers in accordance with the Hazardous Materials
whether you may describe your intermediate bulk containers as
Regulations (HMR; 49 CER Parts 1/1-180) • Specifically you ask
"boxes" or "crates" on a shipping paper.
The answer is yes. The type of packaging and destination marks
basic description.
