Dear Mr. Chambers:

This is in response to your letter dated March 25, 1999,
regarding segregation requirements under § 177.848 of the •
Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR; 49 CFR Parts 171-180) .
Specifically you ask if it is permissible to transport
corrosive materials in the same vehicle with material known to
be foodstuffs.
The answer is yes. Under § 177.841, a package bearing or
required to bear a POISON or POISON INHALATION HAZARD label
