This is in reply to your letter of January 4, 1971, concerning the employment of coiled sheathed
inserts in mechanical joints of plastic pipe.
this Office does not endorse proprietary products. If the device concerned complies with the
requirements of 49 CFR, Section 192.281(e) it may be employed, otherwise it must not be.
If you have further questions, do not hesitate to ask.
