Dear Ms. Jacobsen:
This is in response to your correspondence dated May 8, 1995, pertaining to an employee who is using a
prescription drug.
The Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA) does not have any prohibitions in its drug
rule against an employee’ s use of prescription drugs. Therefore, you may not test an individual for
prescription drugs under the authority of the Research and Special Programs Administration.
