(a) Valve maintenance required pursuant to 49 CFR 192.747, as amended from time to time, shall include: (1) checking alignment to ensure a key or wrench can operate the valve; (2) clearing any debris from the valve box or Vault that would interfere with or delay the operation of the valve; 23 (3) checking for adequate lubrication; (4) partial operation; and (5) verification of the correct valve position. (b) Curb Valves on Service Lines where the Customer Meter is located inside the structure, and there is no outside above-ground Service Line valve, shall be inspected at least once every 5 calendar years, but at intervals not exceeding 63 months. Any deficiencies found shall be remediated not later than 1 year after discovery. (c) The prompt remedial action required pursuant to 49 CFR 192.747(b), as amended from time to time, shall occur in a reasonably expedited manner, but not later than the next regularly scheduled check.
