CERTIFIED MAIL - RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED
September 10, 2012
Mr. Eric Amundsen
VP Technical Services
Panhandle Energy

CPF 2-2009-1002H
Dear Mr. Amundsen:
On August 30, 2012, you wrote to the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety
Administration (PHMSA) Southern Region, Office of Pipeline Safety requesting closure of
the Corrective Action Order (CAO) (CPF No. 2-2009-1002H) that PHMSA issued on
May 7, 2009, in response to the May 4, 2009, incident on the Florida Gas Transmission (FGT)
100 Line in Martin County, Florida. The CAO specifically addressed FGT’s 18-inch pipeline
segment that extends approximately 56.8 miles from Ft. Pierce (Station 20) to Cutler, Florida.
This letter is to inform you that the Southern Region has reviewed all the actions taken by
FGT with respect to the CAO and we find that FGT has complied with the terms of the CAO.
No further actions are necessary with regards to the CAO. This case is now closed.
Accordingly, all pressure restrictions established by the CAO are withdrawn. FGT can return
this pipeline segment to its maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP).
Please be advised that this letter refers only to the CAO (CPF 2-2009-1002H) and not to any
other PHMSA pending cases. Also be advised that nothing herein states or implies that the
above described pipeline segment meet the requirements of the federal pipeline safety
regulations. The pipeline system remains subject to inspection by PHMSA.
Sincerely,
Wayne T. Lemoi
Director, Office of Pipeline Safety
PHMSA Southern Region
