The items inspected and\nthe probable violation(s) is:\nl, 192,749 Vault maintenance'\n(a) Each vault housing pressure regulating and pressure limiting equipment, and having\na volumetric internal content of 200 cubic feet (5.66 cubic meters) or more, must be\ninspected at intervals not exceeding 15 months, but at least once each calendar year, to\ndetermine that it is in good physical condition and adequately ventilated'\n(b) If gas is found in the vault, the equipment in the vault must be inspected for leaks'\nand any leaks found must be repaired.\n(c) The ventilating equipment must also be inspected to determine that it is functioning\nproperly.\niO) nacn vault cover must be inspected to assure that it does not present a hazard to\npublic safety.\n\n\n\nvalve vault inspection records could not be produced for the Kenai Gas Field to Nikiski\nNatural Gas Transmission Line for the 2005 inspection period. Our inspector did note that\nthe valve maintenance records for the valves contained within the vaults were inspected\nand found satisfactory. Also, during the PHMSA freld inspection, nine vaults were\ninspected and found to be in satisfactory condition.\nUnder 49 United States Code, $ 60122, you are subject to a civil penalty not to exceed\n$ 100,000 for each violation for each day the violation persists up to a maximum of $1,000,000\nfor any related series ofviolations. We have reviewed the circumstances and supporting\ndocuments involved in this case, and have decided not to conduct additional enforcement\naction or penalty assessment proceedings at this time. We advise you to correct the item(s)\nidentified in this letter. Failure to do so will result in Marathon Oil Company being subject to\nadditional enforcement action.
