Then call emergency response telephone number on shipping paper. If shipping paper\nnot available or no answer, refer to appropriate telephone number listed on the inside back cover.\nMove people out of line of sight of the scene and away from windows.\nKeep unauthorized personnel away.\nStay upwind, uphill and/or upstream.\nVentilate closed spaces before entering, but only if properly trained and equipped.\nPROTECTIVE CLOTHING\n•\nWear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).\n•\nStructural firefighters' protective clothing provides thermal protection but only limited chemical protection.\nEVACUATION\nImmediate precautionary measure\n•\n•\n•\nIsolate spill or leak area immediately for at least 100 meters (330 feet) in all directions.\nLarge Spill\nConsider initial evacuation for 250 meters (800 feet) in all directions.\nFire\n•\nIf rail car or trailer is involved in a fire, ISOLATE for 800 meters (1/2 mile) in all directions; also initiate\nevacuation including emergency responders for 800 meters (1/2 mile) in all directions.\nIf fire threatens cargo area containing packages bearing the 1.4S label or packages containing material\nclassified as 1.4S, consider isolating at least 15 meters (50 feet) in all directions.\n*\nFor information on \"Compatibility Group\" letters,\nrefer to the Glossary section.\nPage 158\nERG 2024\n\nExplosives* - Division 1.4 or 1.6\nGUIDE\n114\nEMERGENCY RESPONSE\nFIRE\nCARGO Fire\n•\nDO NOT fight fire when fire reaches cargo! Cargo may EXPLODE!\n•\nStop all traffic and clear the area for at least 800 meters (1/2 mile) in all directions and let burn.\n•\nDo not move cargo or vehicle if cargo has been exposed to heat.\nTIRE or VEHICLE Fire\n•\nUse plenty of water - FLOOD it! If water is not available, use CO2, dry chemical or dirt.\n•\nIf possible, and WITHOUT RISK, use unmanned master stream devices or monitor nozzles from\nmaximum distance to prevent fire from spreading to cargo area.\n•\nPay special attention to tire fires as re-ignition may occur. Stand by, at a safe distance, with extinguisher\nready for possible re-ignition.\nCLASS 1.4S Fire\n•\nPackages bearing the 1.4S label or packages containing material classified as 1.4S are designed\nor packaged in such a manner that when involved in a fire, they may burn vigorously with localized\ndetonations and projection of fragments.\n•\nEffects are usually confined to immediate vicinity of packages.\n•\nFight fire with normal precautions from a reasonable distance.\nSPILL OR LEAK\n•\nELIMINATE all ignition sources (no smoking, flares, sparks or flames) from immediate area.\n•\nAll equipment used when handling the product must be grounded.\n•\nDo not touch or walk through spilled material.\n•\nDO NOT OPERATE RADIO TRANSMITTERS WITHIN 100 METERS (330 FEET) OF ELECTRIC\nDETONATORS.\n•\nDO NOT CLEAN-UP OR DISPOSE OF, EXCEPT UNDER SUPERVISION OF A SPECIALIST.\nFIRST AID\nRefer to the “General First Aid” section.\nIn Canada, an Emergency Response Assistance Plan (ERAP) may be required for this product.\nPlease consult the shipping paper and/or the \"ERAP\" section.\nERG 2024\nPage 159","truncated":false,"body_characters":3319}
