EMERGENCY RESPONSE ASSISTANCE PLANS (Applies in Canada ONLY)\nAn ERAP or Emergency Response Assistance Plan is a Transport Canada approved plan\nthat describes what is to be done in the event of a transportation incident involving certain\nhigh-risk dangerous goods that require specialized emergency response personnel and\nequipment.\nOnce implemented, a plan can be used to assist local emergency responders either\nremotely or on site, by offering technical and emergency response advice and resources.\nERAP resources are often integrated with plans from carriers and local or provincial\nauthorities to help mitigate the consequences of an incident.\nFor shipments that require an ERAP, an ERAP reference number and telephone number\nto obtain assistance will be included on the shipping paper. Anyone can call the ERAP\ntelephone number. If additional information is required, or to determine if the product\ninvolved in the emergency requires an ERAP, contact CANUTEC.\nCANUTEC may be called at 1-888-CANUTEC (226-8832)\nor collect at 613-996-6666 (24 hours)\n*666 on cellular phone (Press star 666) In Canada Only\nPage 385\n\nUNITED STATES\nNATIONAL RESPONSE CENTER (NRC)\nThe NRC, which is operated by the U.S. Coast Guard, receives reports required when\nhazardous materials are spilled.
