Cause detail: A PARTIALLY BURIED STRAINER, ON THE SUCTION SIDE OF A CUSHING TERMINAL BOOSTER PUMP, DEVELOPED A LEAK BELOW GRADE. OIL SATURATED THE GRAVELLED AREA, RAN TO CATCH BASIN AND DOWN DRAINAGE DITCH TOWARD AN ON-SITE POND. ABSORBENT BOOM WAS STRUNG ACROSS WATER TO PREVENT FURTHER MIGRATION OF OIL. ALL PRODUCT WAS CONTAINED ON SITE AND VACUUM TRUCKS RECOVERED FREE PRODUCT. CONTAMINATED SOIL WAS EXCAVATED AND STOCKPILED. THE STRAINER WAS REMOVED AND STRAIGHT SPOOL WAS INSTALLED.
