Records may be supplemented or corrected and do not represent final agency causal findings.\n\nReport number: 20210006.\n\nOperator ID: 32099.\n\nReported incident date: 1/26/2021 11:38.\n\nCause detail: INTERNAL CORROSION\n\nCause detail: ON JANUARY 26, 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 11:20 AT THE LEA STATION, A COMPANY EMPLOYEE NOTICED A RELEASE DURING HIS DAILY CHECKS. AT 11:38 THE SPILL WAS CONFIRMED THAT CRUDE OIL WAS LEAKING FROM THE CG105 CIMAREX TRUNKLINE 8 INCH (NON-REGULATED GATHERING LINE) ON THE SHURVESA GATHERING SYSTEM. THE CONTROL CENTER SHUT DOWN ALL LACT UNITS ON THE SHURVESA SYSTEM. A THIRD PARTY WAS CALLED IN TO PICK UP ALL FREE PRODUCT AND THE SOIL WAS REMEDIATED. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT INTERNAL CORROSION CAUSED THE LEAK AT THE 5:30 POSITION ON THE PIPE BODY. A PLIDCO CLAMP WAS INSTALLED ON THE AFFECTED PORTION OF THE PIPE. TO PREVENT FUTURE SPILLS, SAMPLING OF THE PRODUCT, INCREASE PIG RUNS AND ADDING ADDITIONAL CORROSION MONITORING WILL BE IMPLEMENTED. ON JANUARY 27, 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 18:31 THE CONTROL CENTER STARTED THE LINE BACK UP AND BRING THE LACT UNITS BACK ONLINE SLOWLY. THE PLIDCO CLAMP WAS MONITORED THROUGH THE NIGHT TO ENSURE INTEGRITY OF THE CLAMP.","truncated":false,"body_characters":1488}
