You submitted a Material Safety Data Sheet and a vapor pressure curve\nwith your inquiry.\nUnder $ 173.22, it is the shipper's responsibility to determine that the packaging or container is\nassembled, and marked in accordance with part 178. However, based on the information you\nan authorized packaging, including part 173 requirements, and that it has been manufactured,\nprovided, it is the opinion of this office that a hydrostatic test pressure of at least 300 kPa is\nrequired for the plastic drums.\nI hope this information is helpful.\nSincerely,\nTransportation Regulations Specialist\nOffice of Hazardous Materials Standards\n010319\n173.22\n\n<<<PAGE 2>>>\n\n:.\nDEC.14.2001\n8:09AM\nASHLAND CHEM ECD 614 790 4213\nNO. 861\nP.1/12\nCorbin\nECD Engineering\nAshland\n§ 173,24\n5200 Blazer Parkway\nDublin, Ohio 43017\nGenon Pecke mAX Number: 614-790-4213\n01-0314\nFAX TRANSMITTAL FORM\nDATE:\nDecember 13, 2001\nTO:\nDiroctor of the Office of Hazardous Materials Standard\nFAX NUMBER:\n202-366-3012\nFROM:\nKaren Schaaf\nPHONE NUMBER: 614-790-6440\nNUMBER OF PAGES SENT (including cover): 12\nCOMMENTS:\nWe would like to know what pressure rating is required to ship 30% ammonium\nhydroxide in drums.
