Specifically the question surrounds the definition of\n\"Name/Title of Signatory\". The name is self-evident but the definition\nof \"Title\" is not defined, per se, anywhere in the IATA regulations, 2002\nEdition. At 8.1.4.1, it simply says \"The declaration form must be signed\nby the shipper\". At 8.1.6.12 it says \"Enter the name and title of the\nperson signing the Declaration\" - Title undefined.\nWe have recently been taken to task by Forwarders and/or carriers for\nnot being (in their eyes) specific enough in the Title area. The personnel\nNe have aiso used the term \"Shipping Cierk\" in efforts to be more\nvho actually do this work carry the Title in our organization \"Shipper\"\ndefinitive. These folks are the last to see/check the shipment prior to it's\nleaving the site.\nIs there something wrong with using the actual title of the person\nsigning the document? Are forwarders/carriers imposing their own\nrequirements in these instances even though not included in 2.9 - State\nand Operator Variations?\n\n<<<PAGE 3>>>\n\nSEP 05 2002 2:04 PM FR EFTEC MAD HTS MI248 585 3699 TO 12023663012\nP.02\nYour comments on the term \"TITLE\" for air shipments would be\nappreciated including, in the Department's opinion, whether we are\ncomplying with the regulations.\nRegards,\nAre tacor\nGene Secor\nHB Fuller Company\n31601 Research Park Drive\nMadison Heights, MI 48071\nFile: DOT/Letters and fax's\n** TOTAL PAGE.02 **","truncated":false,"body_characters":3484}
