Specifically, you ask if the statement \"Limited\nquantity radioactive material,\" which is required to be included\non the shipping paper in association with the basic description\n(§ 173.423), may be modified to read \"Ltd lty radioactive\nmaterial.\"\nA limited quantity Class 7 (radioactive) material, which is\nclassed other than Class 7 is excepted from the requirements of\nS$ 173.422 (a), 172.203 (d), and 172.204 (c) (4) of the HMR if the\nentry \"Limited quantity radioactive material\" appears on the\nshipping paper in association with the basic description.\nSection 172.202 (b) permits the use of the abbreviation \"Ltd Qty\"\nincluding \"Ltd Qty radioactive material\" in association with the\nin place of \"limited quantity\" on a shipping paper.\nTherefore,\nbasic description on a shipping paper would satisfy the shipping\npaper requirement of § 173.423.\nI hope this information is helpful.
