Specifically, you request a letter\nconfirming that the proper shipping name \"Elevated temperature solid, n.o.s.\" does not\nrequire the addition of the qualifying word \"HOT\" immediately preceding the proper\nshipping name because the words \"Elevated temperature\" are part of the proper shipping\nYour understanding is correct. In accordance with § 172.203(n) the word \"HOT\" is not\nrequired to precede the proper shipping name of an elevated temperature material if the\nproper shipping name includes the words \"Molten\" or \"Elevated temperature.\" You may\nenter the word \"HOT\" on the shipping paper as additional information following the\nbasic description required by § 172.202 and any applicable additional descriptions\nrequired by § 172.203.\nI hope this information is helpful.
