You ask for confirmation\nof your understanding that if the emergency response telephone number is located in the\nUnited States, it does not have to include the \"t\" (plus) sign, country code and city code,\nas appropriate, even if the shipment is intended to be transported internationally by air.\nYour understanding is correct. In accordance with § 172.604(a) an emergency response\ntelephone number located within the United States only requires the telephone number and\narea code. The \"t\" (plus) sign, country code and city code, as appropriate, must only be\nincluded if the telephone number is outside the United States.\nI trust this information is helpful. If we are making an International shipment utilizing an emergency phone number located in the\nunited states are we required to include the international access code or \"+\" sign and country code?\nThe way the rule is written it appears to be based on where the telephone number is located and not\nwhere the shipment originates or its destination. So it is my understanding if a company is using\nChemtrec 703-245-2380 on an air declaration for an international shipment the \"+\" and country code\nis not required since the phone number originates within the United States.\nThank you,\nCliff Croft\nKajuligan Inc.\n2","truncated":false,"body_characters":3409}
