No. 99-0205\nR & I Transfer,\n600 Gillam Road\n'Inc.\nWilmington, OH\n45177\nDear Mr. Russell:\nThis is in response to your letter dated July 27, 1999,\nregarding permissive placarding under § 172.502 (c) of the\nHazardous Materials Regulations (HMR; 49 CFR Parts 171-180).\nSpecifically, you ask whether it is permissible to display a\nCOMBUSTIBLE placard with the identification (ID) number 1993,\na CORROSIVE placard and a DANGEROUS placard on a transport\nvehicle containing 10,400 pounds of non-bulk packagings\ncontaining combustible liquids and 90 pounds of a Class 8\nmaterial in non-bulk packagings.\nThe answer is yes.\ncombustible liquids in non-bulk packagings ($ 172.500 (b) (6)).\nA COMBUSTIBLE placard is not required for\nHowever, a placard may be displayed for a hazardous material,\nin ontormance with Paze 472\neven when not required, provided the placarding is carried out\nin conformance with Part 172, Subpart F..
