Stapleton\nChief of Bureau of Biguefied\nPetroleum Gas\nTreasurer's Office State of Fla.\nTallahassee, Florida 32304\nDear Mr. Stapleton:\nThis is in reply to Mr. Gresimer's letter of December 28, 1970,\nconcerning the requirements of 49 CFR, Part 192 as applied to\nliquid petroleum gas distribution system.\nDuring the rulemaking process which resulted in the issuance of\nPart 192 representations on behalf of the LP gas industry similar\nto those contained in your letter were made to this Office by the\ntrade association representing that industry, both in writing and\norally.\nThe trade association was formally requested to provide us with\nfactual information supporting its claim that the regulations\nshould apply only to companies of larger size than those\nregulated under Part 192. No such information has been provided\nand, without it we have no basis for considering a change in our\nrules.\nThe regulations concerning the reporting of accidents apply to\nthe smaller systems with 10 or more customers to the same degree\nthat they apply to the larger ones.\nThank you for your interest in the pipeline safety program.\nSincerely,\nJoseph C.
