Steele, Jr.\nActing Regional Commissioner\nPublic Buildings Service\nGeneral Services Administration\nRegion 3\nWashington, DC 20407\nDear Mr. Steele:\nThis responds to your letter of January 31, 1974, requesting our assistance in reviewing the risk\nexposure due to internal gas facilities in the William J. Green, Jr., Federal Building.\nThe Office of Pipeline Safety does not have the staff or available hours to devote to such a\nreview. Generally, we do not review the construction of gas facilities to determine safety\nacceptability unless a specific hazard is involved.\nThe earlier occasion on which a member of my staff assisted you in this matter was a courtesy for\nthe GSA Washington, D.C. office. The recommendation made at that time, which I again\nsuggest, is that you employ the services of a professional engineer to make the review.\nSincerely,\nJoseph C.
