Meekins\nLaw Offices of Carpenter,\nGolding, Crews & Meekins\nAttorneys Building\n806 East Trade Street\nCharlotte, North Carolina 28202\nDear Mr. Meekins:\nThe Office of Hazardous Materials has forwarded your letter of April 3, 1975, to this Office for\nfurther response as to regulations governing the transportation by pipeline of liquefied petroleum\ngas, particularly odorization requirements.\nThe regulations in 49 CFR Part 195 (copy enclosed) apply to the transportation of liquefied\npetroleum gas by pipeline carriers engaged in interstate or foreign commerce. These regulations\ndo not require that liquefied petroleum gas be odorized during the course of transportation or\nstorage.\nThe regulations in 49 CFR Part 192 (copy enclosed) apply to pipelines carrying petroleum gas\nfrom where it is held in liquid form to where it is sold and delivered for consumption.
