December 15, 1976
Mr. Bray
9310 Almeda-Genoa Road
Houston, Texas 77034
Dear Mr. Bray:
This is in reply to your letter of December 6, 1976, concerning requirements for leak survey for
transmission lines.
49 CFR, Part 192, Section 705 requires a patrol program for transmission lines, including
indications of leaks, and as you state, Section 192.789 states requirements for record keeping of
leaks discovered.
We have opened a Houston office. It is located at 201 Fannin Street, Room 316, Houston, Texas
77002, and headed by Marshall Taylor.
We hope this answers your question and if you have further questions, do not hesitate to ask.
Sincerely,
Joseph C. Caldwell
Director, Acting
Office of Pipeline Safety
