Pierzina\nSenior Engineer\nOffice of Pipeline Safety\nMinnesota Department of Public Safety\n175 Aurora Avenue\nSt. Paul, MN 55103-2356\nDear Mr. Pierzina:\nI am responding to your letter of June 29, 1992, to George W. Tenley, Jr., about the uprating\nrequirements of Subpart K of 49 CFR Part 192.\nSpecifically, you asked whether § 192.557(b)(6) applies only when a low pressure distribution\nsystem is uprated to a high pressure distribution system. Because § 192.557(b)(6) requires the\ninstallation of service regulators, the purpose of this regulation is to require proper pressure\ncontrols when a low pressure distribution system is uprated to a high pressure distribution system.\nAs these regulators would already be in place on high pressure distribution systems, §\n192557(b)(6) does not apply to the uprating of a high pressure distribution system.\nSincerely,\n/signed/\nCesar De Leon\nDirector, Regulatory Programs\nOffice of Pipeline Safety\nDB\nC:\\WP51\\INTERPRT\\192\\557\\92-07-16\n1","truncated":false,"body_characters":1016}
