Box 30028\nReno, Nevada 89520-3028\nDear Ms. Radomski,\nYour letter of January 12, 1994, requests further consideration of our August 24, 1993,\ninterpretation of 49 CFR § § 192.355(b)(2) and 192.357(d) regarding venting of customer\nregulators. You ask if a meter with a relieving regulator, or a regulator with an internal relief\nvalve installed in an enclosed space is properly vented if an outside door to the space has slats at\nthe top and air space clearance at the bottom. You provide photographs of meter sets currently\ninstalled in the manner you describe.\nAs stated in our letter, both the meter with a relieving regulator, and the regulator with an internal\nrelief valve must be vented directly to the outside atmosphere through piping.
