THE NTSB RECOMMENDS THAT THE OFFICE OF PIPELINE SAFETY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION: IN ITS STUDY OF PLASTIC PIPE, DETERMINE WHETHER OCCLUDED PARTICLES DURING EXTRUSION ARE A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY PROBLEM, AND, IF SO FOUND, TAKE NECESSARY REGULATORY ACTION TO CONTROL THAT PROBLEM.
