320091005M_Closure Letter_01212011_text.pdf, page 1Official PDFCERTIFIED MAIL - RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED January 21, 2011 Mr. Royce Ramsay Vice President, Operations Northern Natural Gas Company 1111 South 103rd Street Omaha, Nebraska 68124-1000 CPF 3-2009-1005M Dear Mr. Ramsey: On July 5-9, 2006, and June 19-21, 2006, representatives from the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), the Minnesota Office of Pipeline Safety, and the Michigan Public Service Commission, pursuant to chapter 601 of 49 United States Code, conducted an on-site pipeline safety inspection of the Northern Natural Gas Company (NNG) integrity management procedures in Omaha, Nebraska. As a result of the inspection, NNG was issued a Notice of Amendment on April 22, 2009, which proposed amendment of your procedures. NNG responded on May 22, 2009, with a description of the revisions made to its procedures as a result of the inspection and then submitted its procedures on December 31, 2009. My staff reviewed the amended procedures, and it appears that the inadequacies outlined in this Notice of Amendment have been corrected. This letter is to inform you no further action is necessary and that this case is now closed. Thank you for your cooperation. Sincerely, David Barrett Director, Central Region Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration#
