Cause detail: THE 24" 5B PIPELINE, NEAR GREELEY, CO RUPTURED. ESCAPING GAS WAS IGNITED AND CONTINUED TO BURN UNTIL THE PIPELINE SEGMENTS ON BOTH 5A AND 5B WERE ISOLATED AND THE RESIDUAL GAS WAS EXHAUSTED. A COMPANY OWNED METER STATION WAS DESTROYED. APPARENTLY, A 4-IN BRANCH LINE FAILED AT A SADDLE CONNECTION.
