Cause detail: CAR, TRUCK OR OTHER VEHICLE NOT RELATED TO EXCAVATION ACTIVITY

Cause detail: A SMALL SINGLE ENGINE AIRCRAFT HAD MECHANICAL FAILURE SHORTLY AFTER TAKE OFF FROM THE LINDEN, NEW JERSEY AIRPORT AND WAS FORCED TO ATTEMPT AN EMERGENCY LANDING AT THE TEXAS EASTERN LINDEN COMPRESSOR STATION. THE AIRCRAFT COLLIDED WITH SOME PIPELINE FACILITIES RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO OPERATOR POWER GAS PIPING, ESD PIPING, AND TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE TRANSMITTERS. THE FAA AND FBI IMMEDIATELY BEGAN AN INVESTIGATION.
