Cause detail: PUMP OR PUMP-RELATED EQUIPMENT
Cause detail: ON 02/20/2021 AT 9:10 AM, AN ENTERPRISE TECHNICIAN WAS NOTIFIED BY A THIRD PARTY PRODUCER THAT THE SEAL ON PU-1000 AT PIONEER TEXAS TEN ZZ WAS ACTIVELY LEAKING. THE PUMP WAS ISOLATED AND THE LEAK WAS STOPPED. THE CAUSE OF THE LEAK WAS ATTRIBUTED TO LOW AMBIENT TEMPERATURE THAT CAUSED WATER WITHIN CRUDE IN THE PUMP SEAL TO FREEZE AND EXPAND RESULTING IN THE SEAL FAILURE. THE DAMAGED SEAL WAS REPLACED AND THE UNIT WAS MONITORED DURING RESTART. ALL SOIL WAS REMEDIATED.
