Cause detail: INTERNAL CORROSION
Cause detail: ON 4/12/24 AT APPROXIMATELY 11:30, AIR PATROL NOTICED A LEAK NEAR THE ECTOR TO GATE PLANT F 61 8-INCH LINE. ONCE ON SITE, OPERATIONS DISCOVERED A RELEASE OF APPROXIMATELY 40 BARRELS OF CRUDE OIL. THE LINE WAS EXCAVATED AND REPAIRED WITH A PLIDCO MECHANICAL CLAMP. THE RELEASE WAS DUE TO INTERNAL CORROSION FROM A PINHOLE ON THE ECTOR TO GATE PLANT F 61 8-INCH PIPELINE. A CONTRACTOR CREW CLEANED UP PRODUCT AND REMOVED CONTAMINATED SOIL FOR OFFSITE REMEDIATION TO PREVENT REOCCURRENCE, THE INTERNAL CORROSION CONTROL PROGRAM IS BEING EVALUATED FOR ENHANCEMENTS.
