SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GAS CO — Integrity Assurance Notification

REASSESSMENT INTERVAL BELOW 30% SMYSThe Safety Enforcement Division (SED) of the California Public Utilities Commission reviewed Southern California Gas Company’s (SCG) 6-Month Assessment Extension Requests for L1017, L2051, L4002, and L5000 pursuant to Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 192 Section 192.939. Each of the 4 requests were submitted on December 31, 2024, seeking for a 6-month extension of the 7-calendar year reassessment interval. SED reviewed SCG’s justification document for the extension requests to complete SCC threat assessment. Furthermore, SCG informed SED that it will implement additional safety measures such as accelerated leakage surveys and patrolling during the extension period and other risk reduction measures including pressure reduction or isolation of impacted pipeline segment if the assessment cannot be completed within the 6-month extension.
