COLORADO INTERSTATE GAS CO — Integrity Assurance Notification
ILI RESULTS EXTENSIONColorado Interstate Gas Company, L.L.C. (CIG) is submitting this notification in accordance with the requirements in 49 CFR 192.18(c) to inform PHMSA that CIG will not be able to discover an in-line inspection (ILI) EMAT survey within 180 days as required by 49 CFR 192.933(b). 49 CFR 192.933(b) requires that “An operator must promptly, but no later than 180 days after conducting an integrity assessment, obtain sufficient information” to determine that a condition presents a potential threat , “unless the operator demonstrates that the 180-day period is impracticable.” It also requires “In cases where a determination is not made within the 180-day period, the operator must notify PHMSA, in accordance with § 192.18, and provide an expected date when adequate information will become available.” The discovery deadline for project CIG-15169, 0002-B Limon to Watkins is November 26, 2025. The ILI vendor is presently forecasting delivery of the EMAT ILI Inspection Report on December 1st, which is nine (9) days after the 180-day discovery timeline. It is important to note that there is some uncertainty in the forecasted ILI vendor delivery date which can result in delivery that is later than the projected delivery date. If the ILI survey report is delivered on or about the forecasted timeline, CIG will not be able to discover the EMAT survey within 180-days since additional work is required after receipt of the report to in order to have “sufficient information” to discover the conditions. Additional work required after receiving the report from the ILI vendor includes data integration to facilitate performing engineering assessment of any reported anomalies, identification regulatory locations such as HCAs and MCAs to establish appropriate response, alignment anomalies with historical repairs and application of appropriate response criteria. Given the uncertainty in the ILI vendor’s delivery timeline and the requirement to perform additional analysis after receipt of the ILI vendor report, CIG is requesting a 12-day extension beyond the 180-day timeline.#
