(a) Metal storage tanks with internal design pressures of not more than 15 psi (103 kPa) gage must be designed and constructed in accordance with API Standard 620 and, where applicable, appendix Q of that standard.

(b) Metal storage tanks with internal design pressures above 15 psi (103 kPa) gage must be designed in accordance with the applicable division of section VIII of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
