Vaults

(a)Each Operator shall ensure Vaults:#

(1)provide access to equipment through doors or covers designed not to fall into the enclosure;#

(2)are constructed to protect Piping and equipment during an explosion or fire; and#

(3)contain Piping and tubing located to minimize the risk of damage by individuals occupying the Vault, where such Piping or tubing are unable to support the weight of an individual. 11#

(b)Each Operator shall ensure that, prior to any individual entering any Vault, the Vault atmosphere is tested for gases and oxygen deficiency.#

(c)49 CFR 192.605(b)(9), as amended from time to time, shall apply to Vaults.#

(d)Each Operator shall ensure that any deficiencies found pursuant to 49 CFR 192.749, as amended from time to time, shall be remediated not later than 1 year after discovery, except that any hazardous leak shall be repaired immediately.#
