Backfill

All below-ground Pipelines, where backfill is required, shall be installed with free-draining fill that completely passes through a 3/8-inch sieve, unless the Pipelines are otherwise protected; and any Pipeline:#

(1)not exceeding 2 inches in diameter shall be installed with at least 2 inches of fill above and below such Pipeline, prior to compaction; or#

(2)exceeding 2 inches in diameter shall be installed with at least 3 inches of fill below and on the sides and at least 6 inches above such Pipeline, prior to compaction.#
